Picturesque Lake Kezenoyam and Kazenoy-am is located on the southern side of the slope of the Andean ridge in the zone of subalpine meadows on the border of Chechnya and Dagestan and is the largest in the North Caucasus, covering an area of 1.7 sq. km.
The length of the water surface from north to south is 2 km, and from west to east — about 3 km, the maximum width is 735 m. The length of the coastline is about 10 km, that is, in a couple of hours you can walk around the entire reservoir on foot.
The basin is characterized by steep slopes and a flat bottom. The water level varies depending on the amount of precipitation. The mountain landscape shelters the valley from the winds, so waves and even ripples are very rare, mostly the surface shines with a perfectly smooth mirror surface.
